Whether you are creating a focal point in a new kitchen or a useful work surface, consider the warmth and beauty of wood counters. Wood types are available in a range of colors and textures from basic Black Walnut and Maple countertops to more exotic woods such as Sapele and Brazillian Cherry countertops. Enrich a wood pattern in the surface by choosing from one of several grain designs and profiles to create a unique design for your home.
Sophisticated, rustic, country French, traditional American or just down to earth…wood counter tops will bring warmth and make an everlasting statement of beauty. Choose from a variety of wood types to compliment your tastes and reflect your sense of style.
Kirkwood Stair & Millwork solid tops are made from select woods in one of three designs:
Plank Style – 3-1/2” wide edge laminated planks for a traditional look
Edge Grain Style – 1-3/4’ x 1-1/2” laminated boards provide a classic butcher block effect
End Grain Style – 1-3/4” square blocs laminated to create a checker board
Our tops can be made for islands, bar tops, and kitchen counter tops complete with sink cut-out. Using the latest digital technology our tops are measured and made specifically for each job site. All tops can be customized with your selected edge profile, distress finishe, or inlays.
Each top is hand sanded to perfection prior to applying Waterlox® tung oil, a lasting waterproof finish. Waterlox® protects the beauty of the wood and is food preparation safe.
All Kirkwood counter tops come with a standard choice of edge profiles (Group A). Estimates are required for customized profiles from Groups B and C.
Special Features include Drain Channels, Set-Down Rods, and Trash Receptacle Cutouts.
Choose from one of our wood species listed or inquire about our custom woods. We can develop custom countertops by combining woods to create an unique pattern or design.
Caring for a wood counter top is easy with a Waterlox® tung oil finish. To insure the beauty and richness of your wood top, we recommend cleaning it by using a simple solution of equal parts of white vinegar and warm water. Apply solution with a soft cloth and wipe clean.
